Fire destroys home in Knolls area
A house fire destroyed a home and outbuildings in the Santa Susana Knolls area just outside Simi Valley Monday night, authorities said. A dog died during the incident.
The Ventura County Fire Department received several calls reporting a fire near the 6200 block of Junipero Street just before 8 p.m., said Andrew Dowd, an engineer-paramedic and spokesperson for the department. The street is in an enclave south of city limits near Simi Valley’s east end.
