Two people injured after plane crashes onto busy Chattanooga roadway during rush hour, fire department says

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Chattanooga Fire Department said two people suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when their plane crashed on a busy road during rush hour.

CFD said the plane’s engine went out just before 6 p.m. and that it crashed in the 4600 block of Shallowford Road, about a half-mile away from the nearby airport runway.

Although this was during rush hour, CFD said, “Amazingly, the plane avoided traffic on Shallowford Road, crashing on the side of the road just down from the intersection of Shallowford Road and Airport Road.”…
