Clancy DuBos, an institution of New Orleans media and politics over five colorful and tumultuous decades in the Crescent City, will retire from journalism at year’s end.
DuBos is political editor of Gambit, the New Orleans alt-weekly newspaper he once owned with his wife, Margo, and is a columnist for The Times-Picayune. DuBos said he plans to leave those positions after Dec. 31.
“The reason for my decision is simple,” DuBos wrote in an email to the publications’ current owner, John Georges. “I’m 70 and I want to start enjoying the things I’ve been putting off for too long while I can still enjoy them.”…
