MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ohio (WKRC)- It has been less than three weeks since a homeless encampment was cleared from Stanbery Park.
It comes after several individuals experiencing homelessness have returned, raising safety and sanitary concerns among local residents and business owners.
City crews took about an hour to clean the area in Mount Washington, but the encampment reappeared shortly after. Assistant City Manager Virginia Tallent said the city should have continued outreach efforts to prevent the situation from recurring.
“For the foreseeable future, and I’m not sure how long it will take, we will do dedicated outreach in this area at Stanbery Park along the Beechmont Avenue corridor of Mount Washington,” Tallent said…
