Wired Cafe owner credits police for catching arsonist

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Wired Cafe closed on October 7th after investigators said 46-year-old David Marshall broke in and started a fire .

“It was very clear, early on in the investigation, that this was a crime, not an accident,” said Rockford Fire Department arson investigator Michael Schnaper. “So, for them to get a turnaround this quickly after a fire like that is actually very good and very impressive.”

Fire officials said the building’s sprinkler system was activated and mitigated the spread of the fire, which resulted in $30,000 worth of damages…
