Fraud of elderly brings 25- year-prison sentence

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A Dallas man is sentenced to 25 years in prison for fraud of elderly victims in Wichita Falls.

Danny Curtis Thompson, Sr., 62, made a plea deal in 78th District Court. Wichita Falls police arrested Thompson and an alleged female accomplice in February 2024 at Sam’s Club, where they said they were trying to buy thousands of dollars worth of electronics using stolen financial cards of elderly victims.

Man accused of throwing 1-year-old during dispute

The manager said he ran the cards and discovered they all belonged to women with birth dates from the 1940s and 50s. Police arrived and found them at a register, and when they searched, they found more stolen cards.

A records search found Thompson had two warrants from Grayson County for credit or debit card abuse, and the woman with him had five warrants from Waco for credit or debit card abuse of the elderly.

The cases against the woman are still pending in the court…
