A 67-year-old hiker from Staten Island was rescued Monday evening after he became separated from his group during a trek through Manorville Hills County Park, police said.
The group’s morning hike began about 9:30 a.m., and the man was last seen at 11:30 a.m. A massive search effort for the man, involving multiple police and other emergency agencies, was prompted by a 911 call that came in at 2:30 p.m, according to authorities.
Flanders EMS Woodland Rescue Team members found the hiker about 5:24 p.m. near Calverton Hills, cops said. Though he was suffering from exposure to cold, he was in good health and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for evaluation…
