- Incoming border czar warns sanctuary city mayors ‘Get the hell out of the way’ or be prosecuted (foxnews.com)
President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, has warned local leaders that they will face legal consequences if they hinder the mass deportation of illegal immigrants.
Homan stated that the first priority will be securing the border, followed by deporting illegal immigrants and locating 300,000 undocumented children. He emphasized that they will prioritize those posing threats to public safety and national security.
Homan warned sanctuary cities that if they obstruct federal law enforcement officers, they could face felony charges. He stated that they should “get out of the way” because the government will proceed with the deportations.
Homan believes that sanctuary cities only protect criminals and that by hindering efforts to remove illegal immigrant criminals, they will invite more ICE officers into their communities. He urged local law enforcement to hand over arrested illegal immigrant criminals to ICE for removal from both the community and the country.
