WASHINGTON D.C. — A bipartisan infrastructure water bill designed to benefit parts of Michigan gained support from the U.S. Senate in Washington Tuesday.
Michigan Congressman Bill Huizenga advocating for Holland, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and St. Joseph to be more prosperous areas with the Water Resources Development Act.
It passed the U.S. House with a vote of 399 to 18, and it’s purpose is to help create a green space where concrete walls currently reside alongside the Kalamazoo River in Battle Creek. The walls were built there years ago to help with flooding.
