SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The South Bend community might finally get some long-awaited closure regarding a house fire earlier this year that tragically took the lives of six children.
The City of South Bend says city leaders and the Indiana State Fire Marshal will hold a news conference on Wednesday morning to announce updates on the investigation into the LaPorte Avenue fire.
As you may recall, five children were killed in the immediate aftermath of the fire on Jan. 21 at a home in the 200 block of N. LaPorte Avenue while a sixth child died at the hospital five days later.
