LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Students at Waggener High School in Louisville were honored Wednesday after receiving a certification as part of the school’s Health Science Academy.
Waggener’s program includes four pathways students can choose, from learning about heart health to sports medicine. Some upperclassmen will then go on to get certifications, and Wednesday’s “Scrub Ceremony” is a way to honor their achievement.
“With this model, we allow kids to come in and really dabble in career in the field they aspire to be in,” said Adam Etienne, principal of the Health Science Academy. “They get great networks, great connections (and) great experiences. … (It) really does help them to move on to the next level.”…
