For its latest fund raising effort, Katie Murray and the Orange County Arts Alliance decided to try a road less taken by raffling a vehicle that is known for, well, taking roads less taken.
“I’ve tried to be real careful in how we go about fundraising and doing things that aren’t your typical type of fundraiser,” said Katie Murray, who is director of the Orange County Arts Commission. “Paint It Orange, for example, is a big fundraiser that is unique to us. That’s not something anybody else does.”
An Arts Alliance Board member shared her experience when she was chief executive officer with the N.C. Museum of Art Foundation. She started a fundraiser that involved selling tickets for a Porsche raffle.
