Houston area suburbs see freezing conditions overnight Tuesday

The National Weather Service Tuesday urged residents in areas with freezing conditions to protect tender plants and vegetation, bring pets indoors and check on elderly family and neighbors.

Overnight temperatures across some parts of southeast Texas dipped below freezing overnight Tuesday.

Freezing conditions could extend until 8 a.m. Wednesday in suburbs north and west of Houston, including Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Montgomery, Polk and Trinity counties, according to the National Weather Service.

In Houston, temperatures maintained a low of about 37 degrees overnight Tuesday. Temperatures will pick back up into the low 60s by Wednesday afternoon before dropping again into the upper 30s overnight…
