A 5-year-old girl in an unincorporated region of Covina has died from a “tragic” dog mauling , a Monday news release from Los Angeles County said.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Sheriff Department called the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control for a dog bite, DACC spokesperson Christopher Valles told SFGATE.
“Once the officers did arrive on scene, we were aware of a child being attacked,” Valles continued. At the time, the girl’s father was renting a room at the property, and the dogs belonged to the owner.
