Wednesday night, ahead of his show at City Winery in Nashville, Walker Hayes met up with Lexy Burke, an entrepreneur and social media influencer known as the Serial Tipper at a Waffle House. Together, they made the day of three unsuspecting employees by leaving them with $400 each.
Burke has established a community online that she regularly calls on to chip in donations of their spare change so that she can surprise a member of the service industry with a big tip. The idea for Serial Tipper was born out of Burke’s own experience as a server at Florida Georgia Line House after college as she built her career as a videographer for independent country music artists. But then the pandemic derailed her plans.
Suddenly the artists she was working with didn’t have shows or needs for her services. She began building her own brand on social media and decided she wanted to focus on ways to give back because so many people were struggling…
