The NBA Cup quarterfinal bout between the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks featured fireworks not typically seen in regular-season games. Trae Young made sure people would have plenty of material to discuss even well after the contest by performing an over-the-top celebration with the contest all but over.
Some New York players probably took offense to how he sealed the Hawks’ 108-100 win by pretending to roll a die over the Knicks logo near the halfcourt line. Knicks star Jalen Brunson felt no resentment toward Young, though, as he thought he and his teammates brought it upon themselves.
Jalen Brunson asked about Trae Young standing over NYK logo at half court, blowing on/rolling dice and picking up money like he was on Vegas craps table at end of game: “We should win the game if we don’t want him to do that.”
