The Dinner Bell Restaurant caught fire last night. The restaurant is located in Flintstone. Authorities say the fire started in the kitchen. Two people in the building at the time were evacuated. no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Walker County’s newly elected chairwoman, Angie Teems, took her oath of office yesterday. Probate Court Judge Christy Anderson presided over the ceremony as a crowd of family, friends and supporters watched. Gene Wilson was also sworn in. Wilson was elected as the District 4 Commissioner. Teems and Wilson will officially take office on January 1st. Their first meeting with the Board of Commissioners is set for Thursday, January 9th.
More details have emerged on what caused the wildfire on Lookout Mountain Saturday morning. Officials at the park say the fire started because of a rock slide. The National Park Service says the wildfire started around 5:30am on Saturday. Officials say large boulders struck many trees. Authorities say that the rock slide which caused immense heat and sparks started the blaze. Officials say that the wildfire is determined to be currently 100% controlled.
