Dec. 12—It started as a COVID-recovery community icebreaker. Now it’s a holiday tradition.
In 2023, residents of Manchester’s historic district on West Merrimack Street tapped the city’s COVID relief funds allocated for group events that enhance community engagement. Now their block party, Merrymaking on W. Merrimack, has taken on a life of its own.
On Sunday afternoon more than 200 holiday shoppers and revelers came to the street festival set up between Franklin and Canal streets for guests to enjoy live music, beer, pizza, sidewalk cornhole and children’s games and to peruse vendor’s wares and get to know local businesses…
