Man accused of kicking police K9 formally charged

A 38-year-old man accused of kicking a police K9 during an arrest earlier this month has been formally charged.

Kevin Lee Charles Engelman was indicted on assaulting a police dog or horse, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business charges on Dec. 12, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records.

Kettering police were called to the 2500 block of Hazelwood Avenue for a domestic complaint on Dec. 1, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
