Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden tells Channel 9 19 detainers have been issued since House Bill 10 went into effect at the beginning of the month. He says ICE hasn’t picked up any of the suspects.
Channel 9 reviewed court documents of all 19 suspects. Of the 19, five have been released from the Mecklenburg County Jail after their detainer holds expired.
Records show an ICE detainer was issued for suspected Honduras citizen Allan Jose Rivera Osorio. The 37-year-old was arrested in Mecklenburg County last week after police say he ran away from them during a traffic stop. He was previously arrested after his wife says he hit her…
