MULTIPLE LOCATIONS—It’s the end of an era for Firehook, the DMV-wide destination for freshly baked breads, pastries, cakes of all kinds, decorative cookies, and more since 1992. Firehook just announced “bittersweet” plans to close all three of its retail bakeries (Dupont, Alexandria, Chantilly) on Christmas Eve. Firehook will shift attention to national sales of its crispy Mediterranean crackers instead. There’s some good news for the D.C. store, which will reopen as Dupont Coffee Collective.
