Thursday was a day of celebration for New York Mets owner Steve Cohen, as he and president of baseball operations David Stearns introduced star outfielder Juan Soto as the newest member of the team.
Soto’s 15-year, $765 million contract — the richest in professional sports history — became official Wednesday , one day before he was welcomed to Queens at a press conference at Citi Field.
