Man robbed Tampa stores at gunpoint while brother waited in getaway car: DOJ

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two brothers have been indicted on federal charges after investigators said they drove several miles to commit multiple armed robberies in Tampa.

Alonzo Deanthony Tucker-Wyche, 27, of Tallahassee, and De’quan Davion Wyche, 24, of Riverview, were seen pulling up to a Tampa convenience store in a silver vehicle around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Alonzo then got out of the car and went inside the store while his brother waited in the vehicle, investigators said. Surveillance footage captured the moment Alonzo went up to the counter, grabbed an AR-15 firearm from his pants and pointed it at the clerk.

Detectives said Alonzo chased the clerk as he ran out the back door but was not able to catch up to him. Alonzo then went behind the counter and removed the cash register drawer from its wires, before running back to the getaway car, according to officials.

During their investigation, authorities said they learned the two brothers had tried to break into another gas station about two miles away that same night but left once they realized the front door was locked…
