AUBURN, Wash. — A business owner in Auburn is asking for the public’s help after a pair of thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of gold jewelry from her store on Wednesday evening. The owner is calling it a carefully orchestrated heist that involved using a toddler as part of the distraction.

The theft happened at the Antique Marketplace in Auburn just after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Security footage shows the suspects — a man and a woman — entering the store separately. The woman carried a toddler on her shoulders, who she allegedly used to divert attention while the man carried out the crime.
