Washington mother of two fatally struck by driver while flagging for help has been identified

A 26-year-old woman who was struck by a Puyallup driver over the weekend after trying to flag down help has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Angelica Gordillo Colmenarez of Tacoma died from blunt torso trauma Saturday near the 2400 block of South Meridian. Her manner of death has been listed as an accident, the office wrote in a news release.

Police and fire crews were dispatched at about 11 p.m. to reports that a driver struck a pedestrian. Police learned that Colmenarez and her two children had pulled into an area parking lot after their vehicle became disabled, according to Puyallup police…
