Father charged for making threat toward Nashville school

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man was arrested after allegedly making numerous threats toward his child’s school and its staff this week in Antioch.

The Metro Nashville Police Department was alerted to the threat at Smith Spring Elementary School on Thursday after 46-year-old Deshon Murphy showed up and asked to speak to the principal. Murphy was allegedly upset about an incident from the day before when the school safety ambassador hugged his child, according to the arrest affidavit.

Murphy told the principal, “That ***** made me so mad, it took everything I had to keep from strangling her,” the affidavit states. “I could spray this whole school up. I would do anything to protect my kids,” Murphy allegedly said…
