WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The National Zoo posted a video on X of giant pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao enjoying bamboo ahead of their debut on Jan. 24.
The zoo said that bamboo makes up about 95% of a giant panda’s diet. The bamboo, when eaten in massive quantities, provides the necessary vitamins and nutrients they need to survive.

The team at the zoo feeds the giant pandas between 80 and 100 pounds of bamboo every day.
