MOVTA and DHHR hold toy drive in Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority (MOVTA) and the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) in Wood County came together at the Easy Rider bus stop to hold a toy drive.

The toy drive’s purpose according to Tabby McClung, a child protective service coordinator, is help those children who are displaced from homes.

“In 1998, this was started to help children that are displaced from their natural homes during Christmas.” McClung said. “Right now we currently have over 300 children that are displaced from their natural homes. This just kind of helps us to bring the Christmas magic to them on Christmas morning.’…
