MSP K9 exposed to illicit drugs during search of Flint home, expected to make “full recovery”

FLINT (WWJ) A Michigan State Police K9 was injured in the line of duty due to drug exposure and is expected to make “a full recovery.”

In a statement on social media, MSP Third District said Trooper Dougherty and his K9 Thor were assisting with a search warrant at home in Flint in the early morning of hours of Wednesday, December 11th, when Thor was exposed to “unknown illicit drugs.”

Trooper Dougherty recognized Thor had been exposed to drugs, was showing symptoms and rendered “immediate aid”, State Police said.

Trooper Dougherty drove Thor to Michigan State University Veterinary Medical Center (MSU) for emergency medical treatment— after the staff was notified of the incident…
