In Whittier, California, neighbors told local animal rescuer, Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, and rescue volunteer, Rosario Ortiz, that a small white Chihuahua had been in the area for the last six days and had cried and barked every night since someone abandoned him along one of the residential streets. The dog was so frightened, so hungry and so brokenhearted, he didn’t know what to do.
It was obvious the dog had no idea how to survive on his own. He had found a hiding place high in a hill adjoining an alley. It was cold, and the nights were long, but he refused to get within 15-feet of any human. He was sure everyone wanted to hurt him; oh no he would hide out and no one would get too close.
After hearing the dog’s story from the local residents who had been leaving food and water for him, Suzette set two humane traps in the holes by the fence where the little dog went in and out multiple times during the day and night…
