HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Governor Ned Lamont Monday announced at least 23,000 of residents will soon have some- if not all- of their medical debt forgiven.

How to get relief from unexpectedly high medical bills
During the conference, Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz said Connecticut has so far spent $100,000 from the state’s allocation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to cancel out $30 million in debt for residents.
Residents in this first round will receive a letter in the mail notifying them that either some or all of their medical debt has been eliminated. Those letters are expected to start arriving at homes on Dec. 23…
