A weak disturbance passing through the region this morning has led to the issuance of a Winter Weather Advisory for the state of Rhode Island points westward.
Traffic this morning is already moving slowly across parts of Connecticut and Massachusetts as the wintry weather moves in.
While generally light, freezing rain or a wintry mix could make untreated surfaces slippery. The best chance for these conditions will be over the next 3-4 hours, especially north and west of I-95.
A high pressure system lying offshore is expected to dwindle our precipitation through the morning hours before a mainly cloudy afternoon. Accumulations are expected to be light, but it doesn’t take much to make things slick…
