Firehook closing last 3 D.C.-area bakeries

The new owners of Firehook Bakery are closing the small chain’s last three D.C.-area cafes on Christmas Eve and will focus their energy on expanding Firehook’s line of artisanal crackers to more retail stores.

The locations in Chantilly, Alexandria and Dupont Circle are set to close Dec. 24, though the Dupont bakery at 1909 Q St. NW will reopen as the employee-owned Dupont Coffee Collective on Jan. 2, Firehook said in in a statement on its website and in social media posts last week.
