These Colorado areas have the best chance to see snow on Tuesday

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Denver will stay sunny this week but other areas across Colorado could see several inches of snow.

In Denver, the forecast stays sunny in the 50s and 60s, with possibly record-breaking heat later in the week. While the Mile High City will be unseasonably warm throughout mid-December, northwest Colorado will see as much as three inches of snow.

According to the Pinpoint Weather team, the northern and central mountains, around and north of Interstate 70, could see some snow, but not much. However, more snow is expected toward the Colorado-Wyoming border.

Which areas have the best snow chances?

Light snow will fall in the northern mountains on Tuesday, adding a few extra inches.

Here’s how much snow is expected to fall by Tuesday night:

  • Walden: 3 inches
  • Steamboat Springs: 3 inches
  • Georgetown: 2 inches
  • Estes Park: 1 inch
  • Vail Pass: 1 inch
  • Edwards: 1 inch

Overall, one to three inches of snow should fall in the northern mountains, with a little more snow on the mountain tops. Other areas toward Aspen as well as Bennett and Fort Morgan could also see trace amounts of snow.

As for Denver, there are little to no chances of snow Tuesday.
