LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -There is yet another scam making its way around and it could end up in the form of a package on your front porch.
The police in several states including some agencies in Michigan are warning residents to be very careful of packages that show up at their house. This one is called a brushing scam. It is where you receive a package that you were not planning on from a place such as Amazon or another company. When you open it, you may find a bracelet, necklace or even a Bluetooth speaker. When you open the package there is a QR code for you to scan, once you do that, all of the information on your phone is transmitted to the scammers.
