Mortgage for family of fallen Madison officer fulfilled by foundation

BRANDON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The Tunnel to Towers Foundation fulfilled the mortgage on the Brandon home of fallen Madison Police Officer Randy Tyler.

Tyler was shot and killed in Brandon’s Crossgates neighborhood after his Special Response Team unit responded to assist local law enforcement with a hostage situation.

Before working at Madison, Tyler served with the Ridgeland Police Department since 1987. He retired from the department as the police chief. He was also a graduate of the 228th Session of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA, and was an active member of the Mississippi Chapter of the F.B.I. National Academy Associates.
