East Alabama Community Foundation awards grants to local nonprofits

EAST ALABAMA — The East Alabama Community Foundation (EACF) hosted its Community Trust Grants Presentation on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Opelika Public Library. A total of $30,525.21 was awarded to local nonprofits. This event highlighted EACF’s commitment to supporting local organizations and initiatives that make a meaningful difference in East Alabama communities. The Community Trust Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations addressing critical needs and opportunities in the region. This year’s recipients are pictured below.

$2,250 to Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind Foundation to pay for the ASL instructors/interpreters and supplies for the AIDB Opelika Regional Center Summer ASL Bootcamp.

$2,775 to The D.A.C. Way to fund the teach for 12 months in Loachapoka, provide Spanish language material for 25 students in Loachapoka as part of the After-School Tutoring and Reading Club.

$2,200 to Created with a Purpose to provide funding to educate, encourage and expose the teens to countless opportunities and careers to inspire them to want to dream about a better future…
