MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The names of five children who have lost their lives to gun violence are sitting on a billboard in downtown Mobile as a reminder to the community, and the group behind the billboard hopes their message is understood by everyone.
Mobile Police Sergeant John Young co-founded the group Men United Against Violence, which focuses on preventing youth violence. He said this billboard will serve as a reminder to not forget those who have been tragically killed.
“If we remember the innocent lives, the blood, the innocent blood shed on our city streets, that will provoke an inspiration inside of people to think twice before they carry a gun, to think before they shoot into a home or a car,” Young said. “Because there are innocent people involved that are not criminals, that are not the target.”…
