Nashville Teen Charged with Bringing Weapons onto McGavock High School Property

At McGavock High School, a 16-year-old student faces charges after being spotted with what appeared to be a rifle, leading to the discovery of multiple weapons in his vehicle. According to the Nashville Police Department’s release, a staff member saw the student exiting his car with the gun as he transferred it from the back seat to the trunk on school property.

The weapon, initially mistaken for a rifle, turned out to be a rifle-style pellet gun. After an investigation, law enforcement also found a machete, and a hunting knife inside the student’s vehicle. The eleventh grader explained that the equipment was from a recent hunting trip, indicating a lack of malicious intent behind their presence on school grounds…
