Tulsa rep introduces bill to expand Oklahoma’s Promise for public school workers’ kids

TULSA, OKLA (KTUL) — House Representative Michelle McCane (D-Tulsa) introduced a bill to expand Oklahoma’s Promise to children of public school employees.

Oklahoma’s Promise allows eighth-11th grade students from families meeting certain income requirements to earn a college or technology center tuition scholarship.

According to McCane, the bill would include students whose guardian is a public school employee, such as a teacher, librarian, certified or registered nurse, or support employee who has been a public school employee for at least five consecutive years…
