COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests of Glayds Moreno, 26, and Nelson Rafael Rizo-Alvarez, 29, in connection with the death of their two-month-old child.
The investigation began on October 28, when deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) responded to a local hospital where the infant had been admitted with multiple broken bones. Medical assessments revealed the injuries were not accidental but caused by blunt force trauma.
