Convicted sex-offender given enhanced maximum sentence for raping two Logan girls three years ago

LOGAN — A 24-year-old convicted sex-offender has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for traveling to Cache Valley and raping two Logan teenagers in 2021. Hasan A. Al Ogaili received the maximum sentence after one of the victim’s mother called him a “predator,” who had killed her daughter.

Al Ogaili appeared Dec. 18 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He previously accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of rape of a child, two counts of enticing a minor and one count of child kidnapping, all first-degree felonies.

According to prosecutors, the three victims, who were 12 and 13-years-old at the time, told Logan City police officers how they met Al Ogaili on Snapchat and agreed to meet him July 20, 2021.
