In 2020, 5,350,708 total motor vehicles were registered in the state of Colorado. When you have that many cars driving around a state, you are gonna need more than a few auto parts stores, right?
The Centennial State has been home to more than 80 Advanced Auto Parts locations for years, but that could all change as the nationwide retailer has confirmed hundreds of stores are about to close.
Advance Auto Parts To Close 700 Locations Nationwide
USA Today shared confirmation in November that Advance Auto Parts had plans to close more than 700 locations. Advanced Auto Parts says they’ll likely close around 500 corporate stores, 200 independent locations, and 4 distribution centers. Advanced Auto Parts says the cuts are in part to create value for shareholders.
Declining Quarterly Profits
Advance Auto Parts shares fell 5% last quarter. The company operates more than 4,700 stores in the US and Canada and employs a workforce of around 69,000 people. The company has yet to release a list of specific locations that will close, but many of the stores in danger of closing are expected to be corporate locations.
Over 80 Colorado Locations
The nationwide retailer operates more than 80 stores in Colorado, with one location in Grand Junction and another in Delta. As of November 2025, the retailer operated 9 stores in Colorado Springs and 11 in Denver. See the entire list of Colorado locations below.
