While one appreciates The Times-Dispatch Editorial Board’s willingness to explore the impact of violent crime committed by noncitizens (“Youngkin sacrifices Virginia in service of Trump – again,” Dec. 15), I could not help but linger over the characterization of the epidemic of violent crime within immigrant communities as something imaginary. I disagree entirely.
One hallmark of an education is the ability to consider an opposing view without adopting it as your own. Fair enough. Yet precisely because this editorial refused to put forth Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s intentions honestly and instead chose the straw man, the framing of the argument by this publication offers more polemic than insight.
