STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — On a brisk Saturday evening in Tottenville, Staten Islanders gathered along Amboy Road for a bittersweet Santa Parade.
This year’s event carried more emotional weight than the usual festive, Christmas cheer — it was a tribute to Richard O. Sarnes Jr., a beloved member of the community who passed away in November at the age of 53.
