REVEALED: These are the worst states for delivery driver accidents during Christmas
- Wyoming is the worst state for delivery driver accidents during Christmas, with 2.4 accidents per 100,000 residents in December between 2018 and 2022 – the highest rate in the U.S.
- New Mexico is the second most dangerous state for delivery driver accidents during Christmas, with 1.75 accidents per 100,000 residents in December between 2018 and 2022.
- Hawaii is the safest state for delivery drivers during Christmas, with zero recorded delivery driver accidents in December between 2018 and 2022.
The study, conducted by Las Vegas Personal Injury Lawyers H&P Law, used the latest data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) to analyze the number of delivery driver accidents each December between 2018 and 2022 in every state in America, to discover which state had the highest rate of delivery driver accidents per 100,000 residents during the Christmas period.
To determine which motor accidents in each state involved delivery drivers, the research focused on vehicles with a Motor Carrier Identification Number (MCID), which all vehicles involved in interstate (and sometimes intrastate) commerce must have by federal law.
