San Bernardino authorities arrested a local man on suspicion of arson after a fire caused over $100,000 in damage to the Arrow Maintenance Facility on West Third Street. No injuries were reported in connection with the fire.
The incident occurred on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6:37 p.m., when deputies from the Transit Operations Division responded to reports of a fire at the Metrolink property. According to employees, a man was seen igniting a fire near the facility’s fence line before fleeing the scene.
The fire spread rapidly, damaging equipment within the facility. A subsequent investigation led deputies to identify Charles Banks, a 39-year-old San Bernardino resident, as the suspect. Banks was later located, arrested, and booked into the Central Detention Center. His bail was set at $30,000…
