Florida man steals identity to get cash at Shamokin Dam credit union

Sunbury, Pa. — A Florida man used a victim’s identity to withdraw nearly $2,000 from a credit union in Northumberland County, police say.

On Nov. 19, Nathaniel McBride, 56, of Fort Lauderdale, went to Service 1st Federal Credit Union in Upper Augusta Township in Sunbury and presented a Washington state ID using the victim’s name.

McBride told the teller he had an account with Olympia Credit Union and wanted to withdraw all the money in the account, according to the affidavit written by Trooper Anthony T. Lorenc of PSP Stonington…
