A South Carolina man is charged with murder and other crimes in connection with the shooting death of a Wilmington man at a New Castle – area motel Sunday night.
Delaware State Police said 30-year-old Marvin Clifford of North Charleston, SC was identified as the suspect in the killing of 49-year-old John Pipkin. Pipkin died after he was found shot in the parking lot of the Budget Inn on Memorial Drive. Pipkin was apparently shot during a robbery in the rear parking lot.
According to State Police, Clifford was arraigned Monday in Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $1.11-million cash bond.
