Southern Maryland, MD – A mix of rain and sleet is impacting central Virginia and southern Maryland, creating slick roads and challenging travel conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) expects improvement later today as skies begin to clear.
According to the NWS Baltimore/Washington office, precipitation will persist for the next two hours, primarily south of Washington, D.C. Winds from the northwest will remain light, at 3 to 5 mph. Temperatures are expected to rise from the upper 30s into the low to mid-40s by this afternoon, with some sun breaking through by 4 p.m.
Evening temperatures will drop to the 30s under mostly cloudy skies. Urban and bay areas may see slightly warmer conditions compared to the colder mountain regions.…
